Around 2,000 years ago Christ took a human body and used it to revolutionize the world by feeding the hungry, touching the untouchable, suffering for the abused and forgiving the unforgivable. He ate, slept, worked, ached, laughed, learned, and loved. He identified with us in every part of life. And through it all he honored and served his Father with that body.
And he still takes bodies today.
Not by force or coercion, but those willingly offered to him.
This is the story of God. We want to live this story, to offer ourselves so that we can become a visible witness to the world of God's undeniable love for them. In our homes, at our schools, jobs, practices and recitals. In the way be buy stuff, get rid of stuff, value stuff. In the way we talk with people, serve people, love people. In the way the think and act. In the ordinary and the astonishing.
Every. Single. Day.
We seek to find out what we can do for Jesus, then do it.
By doing this God's otherworldly power is united with our bodies and everything becomes worship. We are the Body (Soma) of Christ to a world that truly needs Christ's presence.
We are the Soma Project.
Our Goal
We desire to Reach students with the love of Christ, and Equip them for growth in Christ, so they can Worship God with the Church, Connect with other believers and Serve God by serving others.
No. I didn't make a lot of capitalization errors there. Words (other than God, Christ or Church) are capitalized to highlight our core values (see below for redundancy).
